Things for kids to do

The Fun House

Orcas Recreation Program

"Celebrate your wedding with island style!"

The Odd Fellows Hall is the affordable and fun place to have your wedding reception, rehearsal dinner, or ceremony. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are the most popular days to rent. We give priority to weddings, so let us know your ideal date and we will let you know if it is available.

Situated among Madrona trees, evergreens and wildflowers on beautiful Madrona Point in Eastsound, the heart of Orcas Island, the Hall has hosted many memorable weddings and gala celebrations over the years. French doors open onto a waterfront deck overlooking the beautiful sound and village, and the view is to the west, so sunset skies can be spectacular.

The Hall can seat up to 150 people and hold a maximum of 185 people.

Wedding Ideas

IDEA 1

Most people have their wedding receptions on Saturdays or Sundays. Wedding guests often start arriving the day before via ferry, plane and boat. A fun thing to do is rent the hall for the afternoon and evening before your reception. As your guests arrive, they can meet at the hall, explore Madrona Park just down the street, hangout, play music, order in some pizza or Thai food, relax on the deck, watch the sunset and catch up with each other.

IDEA 2

Invite a dance instructor to the reception, or the party the night before and give swing or salsa dance lessons to your guests. See Bridal Boogie at left under the Music and Dance Wedding Link for a dance instructor.

IDEA 3

This is a variation on IDEA 1. Rent the hall the night before and invite your friends to help decorate and party. Order in some chow, put some great music on our awesome sound system and have fun!

IDEA 4

The public dock is 100 yards down the street from the Odd Fellows Hall. Guests with boats can tie up at the dock and stroll to the hall.

IDEA 5

If you are looking for something for the kids to do while you are having your wedding, have them play at the Fun House. The Fun house has all kinds of cool activities and stuff to do that will keep the kids engaged, safe, and entertained. Visit them at www.FunHouse.org.
