About the Odd Fellows
Members of our Order are dedicated to providing aid to our neighbors in need. As a service organization we have mobilized to support scholarships for young people, to help families stay warm through winter, and countless other acts of assistance.
We volunteer time and labor to maintain our historic Hall as a gathering space for all islanders.

It’s not all hard work; the Odd Fellows are known to many people for our colorful presence in the numerous seasonal parades such as Earth Day, Summer Solstice, and the 4th of July. You’ll be sure to hear us coming with a festive percussion ensemble.
Our legendary Thanksgiving dinners are part of a communal tradition that nourishes body and spirit. Any local knows that the funkiest party of the year is our Halloween Dance, featuring live music, costume contests, and funds raised for our scholarship program. The Odd Fellows gather weekly in our Lodge to build brotherhood and continue our mission of meeting community needs.
A BRIEF HISTORY
Founded in England among working men sometime before 1650 and brought to the North American continent by Thomas Wildey in 1819, Odd Fellowship is one of the world's oldest voluntary societies for mutual aid, community betterment, and personal growth.
The motto of the Order is "Friendship, Love, and Truth," and its objective is "To improve and elevate the character of humankind."
The terms “Odd Fellows” come from the “odd” jobs provided in the spirit of service to others. The four traditional duties of an Odd Fellow are to visit the sick, relieve the distressed, bury the dead, and educate the orphan.
All of this heritage is a living part of our Lodge.
